The Homecoming tells the story of the large Spencer family, living at the foot of a Virginia mountain and struggling to survive. It is Christmas Eve, 1933. Clay Spencer has found a much needed job 50 miles away from his wife, Olivia, and their eight children. His son, Clay-Boy, has a secret yearning -- he wants to write! When his father's return is delayed by a snow storm, Clay-Boy searches for his father with the help of friends and neighbors. As a result, he learns more about himself and his family.
