Brenda Hasty is a resident of Brentwood, Tennessee, where she has lived for the last twenty years while raising a family of five children. She began studying art at Watkins Institute as a student of the late Juanita Green Parks. What began innocently as a "Mother's Day Out" quickly became a life's passion.

Although being a mom of five meant many interruptions-sometines years away from painting-the desire was never far away. As her children left the nest, Brenda studied with local artists, Dawn Whitelaw, Paula Frizbe, Michael Shane Neal and Jason Saunders, as well as nationally noted artists, Matt Smith, Ralph Oberg, Morgan Samuel Price and Brian Blood.

"The real blessing is, just when I thought it was too late, I'm living my dream. My two great passions in life, other than my family, are united-painting and travel. Painting takes me all over the world, but one of my favorites would have to be Tuscany, to paint that famous golden light!"

Brenda's marching orders come from Madeline L'Engle, who said, "Whenever a gift is given, and it doesn't matter whether the gift is great or small, there we are required to serve it-ready or not, like it or not." It is Brenda's desire to faithfully serve the gift given to her by a gracious God and share that gift with others.
